The concept that "learning Italian or any foreign language is hard
work" is a misconception.
I can understand the origin of this negative conviction thinking back to
my own school days: I never seemed to be able to stay awake during
my German lessons.
The first and most important reason for this was, that I had absolutely
no desire to learn German at that time in my life - but German was
compulsory in Danish Schools, when I was a child.
In other words I lacked the drive…There was no spark to kick start me.
