Hornbaek
This is the holiday spot for those who loves nature
- but still want the availability of city-life in close
region.
Hornbaek is an old fishing village with a marina
and attractive cafes and restaurants.
Hornbaek Harbour is a very active, modern
yachting harbour having all the necessary
facilities. Local sports fishermen follow in the
tracks of their ancestors, who fished there for a
living four hundred years ago. For many years
both the harbour and the beach have been
awarded the “Blue Flag”.
There are many golf courses in this area. Helsingør
Golf Club’s 18-hole course is considered as being
one of the most beautiful as well as challenging.
Their well-known trainer, Jacob Gøth-Rasmussen
is three times Danish champion.
Studying the menu in Hornbaek leads to a great
selection of eating places: from summer cafées to
all-year restaurants, Fish & Chips at the harbour,
from fast food to gourmet meals, from - and a
variety in between! Ask the Tourist Information
Office.
You will find one of the finest beaches in all of the
North Sealand region. The sea is calm and safe for
children and the beach is accessible for
wheelchairs. There are toilets and kiosks. And
dunes where you can find peace and quiet. That’s
why people come here year after year.
For the more active minded there are water cycles,
beach volley and windsurfing etc.
An only 45 minutes drive will take you to the
Danish capital Copenhagen – with all its
attractions and Sweden can be seen dimly on the
other side of the water – you can reach Sweden in
20 minutes by boat.
Don’t miss out on one of the most significant
Renaissance castles in Northern Europe -
"Kronborg Castle" - 12 kilometres from Hornbaek
and is visited by more than 200.000 guest per
year. Kronborg Castle is world known from
Shakespeares “Hamlet”.
