cuisine is worth writing home about as well. Burgundy has a range
of culinary specialties like goat's cheese, Charolais beef, Bresse
chicken and Burgundy snails. And just imagine: you have decided
on a walking holiday, so you don't have to worry about
calories...you can spoil your taste buds and walk them off. Great!
Walk among vineyards and rolling hills. Pass through quaint
villages in the French landscape and take time at a local café - to
let it all sink in.
You can get to Beaune by air, train or car.
The nearest airport is Dijon-Bourgogne. The airport is located 6 km
south-east of Dijon, and currently served by flights from 15 French
cities and a number of European cities.

Beaune is an excellent starting point for walks in the Burgundy
area. The walled village is called "The Capital of Wine" by the
French, and it is surrounded by vineyards and fairy tale castles or
Chateaus - well worth a visit for their charm and the wine tasting -
not to forget.
Itinerary:
Day 1 - (Sun) Arrive in Beaune.
Welcome dinner with our host.
Day 2 - Sightseeing tour of Beaune.
Loop walk through the prestigious
vineyards of Vougeot. Visit the
renowned Chateau du clos de Vougeot.
Day 3 - Walk through superb scenery
to Pommard (3.5 hours). Continue
through sacred vineyards to the village
of Volnay, degustation at Châteaux
Meursault.
Day 4 - Walk to charming
Auxey-Duress, picnic at St Romain. Visit
a barrel making factory. Continue to
Orches with views to Mont Blanc (4.5
hours).
Day 5 - Stroll along Canal-du-Centre,
wine tasting at Château Mercurey.
Transfer to the region of Mâcon and
the Château de Messey (3 hours).
Day 6 - Morning walk in Brancion
countryside (5 hours). Visit Chateau de
Brancion. Afternoon by pool.
Day 7 - Morning market in Cluny. Walk
in Berze la Ville country side. Visit
Chateau de Berze (2 hours).
Day 8 - Trip ends in Macon after
breakfast (Sun).
