Welcome to Denmark - the Oldest Kingdom in the
World
Denmark is famous for H.C.Anderson and his fairy tales, Tivoli
Gardens, and the Free Town of Christiania - (A more than 30 year
old Hippie Community). Denmark was also the first country in Europe
to release pornography and the country has a well-known reputation
for being liberal.
In 2008 Denmark was rated the 'happiest' country in the world, accor-
ding to a study on global wellbeing. Researchers at the University of
Michigan said Denmark's prosperity, stability and democratic
government placed the country at the top of the rankings.
Copenhagen - the capital city of Denmark is famed for its spirited
nightlife, lively café and music scene. Watch the video from
Copenhagen.
Copenhagen has so much to offer in regards to art, culture, historic
buildings & shopping. Take a stroll down "Strøget" a long pedestrian-
and shopping street in the city center. Remember to check out the
side-streets where you will find all the good stuff...if you like special,
handmade and avant-garde.
Danhostel Copenhagen City is situated on the harbour front, right
next to Tivoli and close to Copenhagen's 'red hot trendy', Vesterbro.
With 1020 beds, the youth hostel is be the biggest city hostel in
Europe.
Only a stone's throw away, is the harbour area - Islands Brygge -
named the up and coming quarter by Wallpaper when the magazine
in 2004 selected the hostel as one of the world’s ten coolest
destinations.
Or seek out your kind of hotel accommodation among various hotels
from budget to luxury through out Copenhagen.
If you need a change of pace - or you are "towned -out" why not rent
a holiday home in Hornbaek - one of Denmark’s most popular holiday
resorts...only 45 minutes driving distance from Copenhagen.
Hornbaek Harbour is a very active, modern yachting harbour having
all the necessary facilities.
For many years both the harbour and the beach have been awarded
the “Blue Flag”.
